This paper shows the Chilean performance regarding implementation of ISO 14.000 (environment), providing an analysis about the link between the management systems and the situation of Chilean export products. Similary, the paper , analysis the importance of the International  organization of Standardization (ISO) in the future of the Latinamerican countries, with particular reference to Chile.El artículo muestra la situación de Chile con respecto a la implementación de las normas ISO 14.000 (Medio ambiente), a través de un análisis acerca de las relaciones entre los mecanismos de control y las exportaciones nacionales. Al mismo tiempo, el trabajo revisa la importancia de los mecanismos internacionales y el futuro de los países de Latinoamérica, haciendo particular referencia a Chile.
