This paper presents the results that are obtained when recycled construction and demolition waste were used for the manufacture of useful elements inhousing of social interest. Although the application of the recycled aggregate is very wide, and this paper discusses its application on hollow bricks, tiles,and pavements units. These elements were not made in the laboratory, they were made in industries of the region to simulate its industrialization, with thepurpose of obtaining more useful results in case of its real industrialization. The elements were put under physical-mechanical tests in the laboratory, andalthough the standards indicated in the corresponding norms were not met in its totality, positive results were found in comparison with homologous materialsused every day, made with natural raw of the region. Therefore, it is possible to conclude, that they can be used in construction of houses, offering analternative of low cost and the suitable quality, besides of the ecological benefits that implies the attenuating of the use of natural rock and to diminish thevolume of remainders in clandestine dumps.En este trabajo se presentan los resultados que se obtienen al reciclar residuos de construcción y demolición para la fabricación de elementos útiles en la construcción de viviendas de interés social. Aunque la aplicación del árido reciclado es muy amplia, en este artículo se expone su aplicación en bloques huecos de hormigón, mosaicos de pasta y adoquines. Estos elementos no se fabricaron en laboratorio, fueron fabricados en industrias de la región para simular su industrialización, con la finalidad de obtener resultados más útiles en caso de su industrialización real. Se sometieron a ensayos físico-mecánicos en laboratorio y aunque no se cubrieron todos los estándares señalados en las normas correspondientes, se encontraron resultados positivos en comparación con materiales homólogos de la región fabricados con materia prima natural y que se utilizan de manera cotidiana. Por lo tanto, se puede concluir que pueden ser utilizados en la construcción de viviendas, brindando una alternativa de menor costo y con la calidad adecuada, además de los beneficios ecológicos que implica el atenuar la explotación de la roca natural y disminuir el volumen de residuos en botaderos o vertederos clandestinos.
