dc.description	There will be a brief overview of the history of Arturo Prat, Chilean sailor and national hero who, defending his country, dies after jumping to the boarding in a contest between the Chilean and Peruvian navies, where there was a clear disadvantage for the Chilean troops. Then the hegemonic masculinity will be linked to a rigid aspect of the self from the humanist current, and both concepts will serve to understand that suicide is a viable option for the figure of the national hero. It will end by reflecting on how hegemonic masculinity reduces the spaces to think on masculinities due to the rigidification of the self.	en-US
dc.description	Se realizará un breve recorrido sobre la historia de Arturo Prat, marino y héroe nacional chileno que, por defender a su patria, muere luego de saltar al abordaje en una contienda que se enfrentaban las armadas chilenas y peruanas, donde existía una clara desventaja para las tropas chilenas. La masculinidad hegemónica, se vinculará con un aspecto rígido del self desde la corriente humanista; ambos conceptos servirán para comprender que el suicidio es una opción viable para la figura del héroe nacional. Se finaliza con una reflexión sobre como la masculinidad hegemónica disminuye los espacios para pensar acerca de las masculinidades debido a la rigidización del sí mismo.	es-ES
