Based on a chapter from the author's doctoral thesis, this article deals with the use of irony by informants in sociolinguistic interviews from the corpus of the project Habla de Monterrey. In this regard, fragments from seven of these interviews are checked as to: a) the presence of irony, intertextuality and humor in interview dialogs and the relations that hold between them; b) the linguistic devices through which they manifest themselves; and c) the purpose of their use in each case. To account for these aspects of the phenomenon under consideration, the following theoretical proposals were taken into account in the analysis: T. Bubnova's proposal about laughter and popular culture; J. Kristeva's proposal about the bajtinian carnival and intertextuality; Pere Ballart and Valeriano Bozal's theory about the ironical fi guration; H. Bergson´s proposals about comicality and laughter; S. Freud's proposals about laughter, joke, comicality and humor in relation with the unconscious; Jorge Portilla's ideas of humor and irony; and R. Rutelli's proposals about parody and irony.    Basado en un capítulo de la tesis doctoral de la autora, este artículo aborda el uso de la ironía, el humor y la intertextualidad como recursos en entrevistas orales de un corpus sociolingüístico del Habla de Monterrey. En este estudio se consideran siete de dichas entrevistas con el propósito de revisar: a) las relaciones que existen entre la ironía  la intertextualidad y el humor cuando aparecen juntos en los diálogos de entrevista; b) las marcas a través de las cuales se manifi estan, y c) la finalidad de su empleo. Se aplican diversas propuestas para examinar esos aspectos: las propuestas de T. Bubnova acerca de la risa y la cultura popular; de J. Kristeva a propósito del carnaval bajtiniano y la intertextualidad; de Pere Ballart y Valeriano Bozal con respecto a la figuración irónica; de H. Bergson sobre la risa y la comicidad; de S. Freud sobre la risa, el chiste, la comicidad y el humor en relación con el inconsciente; de Jorge Portilla se emplean sus ideas sobre el humor y la ironía; de R. Rutelli acerca de la parodia y la ironía.
