Abstract
The article addresses the development of the tourism industry in Rapa Nui since the 1940s, and the factors that made it possible for it to be taken up by the community and not by foreigners. El artículo aborda el desarrollo de la industria del turismo en Rapa Nui desde la década de 1940, y los factores que hicieron posible su asunción por parte de la comunidad y no por foráneos.
