Contemporary interpretations of the philosophy of narrativist history have neglected in their refigurements of Hayden White’s work those texts that elaborate with greater emphasis and detail a traumatic reading of narrativism. A reading that is not possible without a careful consideration by the notion of event in the philosophy of Whitean history. Considering the current readings of narrativism developed in English, as well as the work of translating White’s work into Spanish, the article aims to enunciate the place that the event would have in a refigurement of White’s work capable of dialogue with the catastrophes contemporary and the philosophies that today seek an outlet to the theories of the subject.Las interpretaciones contemporáneas de la filosofía de la historia narrativista han descuidado, en sus refiguraciones de la obra de Hayden White, aquellos textos que elaboran con mayor énfasis y detenimiento una lectura traumática del narrativismo. Lectura que no es posible sin una consideración detenida del lugar que ocupa la noción de acontecimiento (event) en la filosofía de la historia whiteana. Teniendo en cuenta las lecturas actuales del narrativismo desarrolladas en lengua inglesa, así como la labor de traducción de la obra de White al castellano, el artículo se propone enunciar el lugar que el acontecimiento tendría en un trabajo de refiguración de la obra de White capaz de dialogar con las catástrofes contemporáneas y con las filosofías que en la actualidad buscan una salida a las teorías del sujeto.
