dc.descriptionTo what extent can intellectual dialogue be considered a historical event? Under what criteria? Must it be intentional? Under what epistemological circumstances can this scenario take place? To approach these questions, this essay advances the “historiographical comparison” as a scheme of analysis. To this end, the strictly historiographical reflections of two essential historians’ representative of what have become known as the conservative and Marxist schools of historiography, namely Jaime Eyzaguirre and Julio César Jobet, respectively, were interpreted. The question of whether these authors belonged to what is also known as the “Chilean generation of 1938” is also discussed. Finally, we have made progress in the discussion of the concepts of “canon” and “historical literacy”.en-US
dc.description¿En qué medida se puede considerar que el diálogo intelectual es un acontecimiento histórico? ¿Bajo qué criterios? ¿Debe ser intencional? ¿En qué circunstancias epistemológicas se puede dar este escenario? Para acercarse a estas preguntas, este ensayo avanza en la “comparación historiográfica” como esquema de análisis. Para ello se interpretó la reflexión estrictamente historiográfica de dos historiadores esenciales y representativos de lo que se han conocido como las “escuelas” historiográficas conservadora y marxista; a saber, Jaime Eyzaguirre y Julio César Jobet respectivamente. Así mismo, se problematiza en torno a la pertenencia de estos autores a la también conocida “generación chilena de 1938”. Por último, hemos avanzado en la discusión sobre los conceptos de “canon” y “alfabetización histórica”.es-ES
