This work proposes some basic contents for the consagration of the environmental dimension in a future Chilean Constitution. The proposal is elaborated using the background of the current configuration of the environment in the Constitution of 1980 and the jurisprudence of ordinary courts in remedies of protection for the vulneration of the Article 19, para. 8, which develops the Constitution’s environmental content. It will also be considered criteria elaborated by the Constitutional Court on the issue. It will also be taken in consideration different reports on the state of the environment in the country. This proposal is built as constituted by minimum elements, non exclusive of other recommendationsEste trabajo propone algunos contenidos básicos para la consagración de la dimensión ambiental en una futura Constitución para Chile. La propuesta se elabora analizando los antecedentes de la actual configuración del medio ambiente en la Constitución de 1980 y la jurisprudencia de los tribunales ordinarios en recursos de protección por vulneración del artículo 19 número 8, que desarrolla el contenido ambiental de la Constitución. Asimismo, se considerarán algunos criterios laborados por el Tribunal Constitucional en la materia. En la elaboración de la propuesta se tendrán también presentes diversos informes sobre el estado del medio ambiente en el país. Esta proposición se construye en base a elementos mínimos, no excluyentes de otras recomendaciones.
