Recognizing the magnitude of the effects of climate change demands reviewing some cornerstones of the Environmental Impact Assessment. Amidst of State commitments, bills, judicial pronouncements and great activity in the international arena, policy and guides of comparative law are reviewed to identify mechanisms that allow -in some measure at least- addressing a phenomenon as complex as the climate change, in a restricted context such as environmental assessment. Once this is done, it is examined whether there is room to incorporate such tools, particularly referring to the determination of the baseline and adaptive management, in our environmental legal framework.Reconocer la magnitud de los efectos del cambio climático demanda revisitar algunos pilares estructurales del Sistema de Evaluación de Impacto Ambiental. Considerando compromisos de Estado, proyectos de leyes, pronunciamientos judiciales y la gran actividad en el concierto internacional, este artículo revisa las normas y guías de derecho comparado para identificar mecanismos que permitan -en alguna medida- abordar un fenómeno tan complejo como el cambio climático, en un contexto restringido como la evaluación ambiental. El texto examina también si existe margen para incorporar tales herramientas, referidas particularmente a la determinación de la línea de base y al manejo adaptativo, en nuestro sistema jurídico ambiental.
