This work has as a purpose to analyze the potential effects that Law 21.202, which modifies several legal bodies, with the purpose of protecting urban wetlands, taking into consideration the end with which it was created and in relation to laws 19.880 and 19.300. Likewise, several hypotheses in regards to it’s application will be presented, the organs which have relevance in the compliance of the law will be examined, and the control mechanisms included in the law will be reviewed.Este artículo analiza los posibles efectos de la Ley 21.202, que modifica diversos cuerpos legales con el objetivo de proteger los humedales urbanos, considerando para ello los fines para los cuales fue creada y su relación con las leyes 19.880 y 19.300. Asimismo, se exponen diversas hipótesis respecto de su aplicación, se examinan los órganos que tienen incidencia en el cumplimiento de su normativa, y se revisan los mecanismos de control que la referida ley contempla.
