dc.descriptionThis article proposes a critical review of the scope of transhumanism in the field of psychology. To this end, background information will be presented, and a definition will be given of what is understood by transhumanism and its result, called poshumanism. Through such basic and diverse human characteristics as cognition, suffering and identity, we discuss the unprecedented changes that the implementation and achievement of transhumanist proposals would mean for society, how psychology could foresee and anticipate such a radical scenario, and the need and urgency of new ethical theories that help to understand the phenomena in question.en-US
dc.descriptionEste artículo propone una revisión crítica sobre los alcances del transhumanismo en la esfera de la Psicología. Para ello, se expondrán antecedentes y se definirá lo que se entiende por transhumanismo y el resultado de éste, denominado poshumanismo. A través de características humanas tan básicas y diversas como la cognición, el sufrimiento y la identidad, se discute sobre los inéditos cambios que la ejecución y logro de las propuestas transhumanistas significarían para la sociedad, el cómo la psicología podría prever y anticipar un escenario así de radical, y la necesidad y urgencia de nuevas teorías éticas que ayuden a comprender los fenómenos en cuestión.es-ES
