| dc.description | A lo largo del siglo XVI, las relaciones entre las familias Austria y Jagellón fueron variando, de la rivalidad inicial por las coronas de Bohemia y Hungría, al establecimiento de unos equilibrios que garantizaron la paz. La base de las relaciones fueron una serie de elementos que, al prolongarse en el tiempo, permitieron que se conformara una de las fronteras más estables de la Europa Moderna: la que separó los estados austriacos de la república de Polonia-Lituania. En este trabajo analizamos varios de estos elementos, teniendo presente su carácter perdurable, así como el papel diferenciado de Carlos V y Fernando I en dichas relaciones. Nuestro objetivo es señalar el periodo como un momento configurador, en el que se establecieron las bases de las relaciones entre los Austria y los reyes de Polonia-Lituania durante los siglos XVI y XVII, así como las formas de interacción entre las cortes de Madrid, Viena y Cracovia.Palabras clave: Dinastía Jagellón, Segismundo I, Segismundo II, Carlos V, diplomacia, Casa de Austria, Mancomunidad de Polonia-Lituania. | es-ES |
| dc.description | Throughout the 16th century, relations between the Austria and Jagiellon families changed from the initial rivalry for the Bohemian and Hungarian crowns to the establishment of balances that guaranteed peace. The basis of the relations was a several elements that, when prolonged in time, allowed the formation of one of the most stable borders of Modern Europe: the line that separated the Austrian states from the Poland-Lithuania Commonwealth. This work analyzes several of these elements, considering their enduring character, as well as the differentiated role of Carlos V and Fernando I in relationships. Our objective is to mark the period as a moment of configuration, in which the foundations of future relations between the Austrians and the kings of Poland-Lithuania during the 16th and 17th centuries were established, as well as the forms of interaction between the courts of Madrid, Vienna and Krakow.Keywords: Jagiellonian dynasty, Sigismund I, Sigismund II, Carlos V, diplomacy, House of Austria, Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. | en-US |
