| dc.description | En 1570 se organizó el Santo Oficio de la Inquisición Española en el Nuevo Mundo, constituyéndose solo tres distritos, Lima entre ellos, cuya jurisdicción incluía las diócesis de Santiago y Concepción de Chile. Con miras a estrechar los controles sobre la población, se normó, desde el comienzo, que cada cabeza de obispado y puerto de mar del distrito limense contaría con comisarios, verdaderos representantes de los inquisidores en espacios alejados del asiento del tribunal. Si bien se ha sostenido por la historiografía que en los espacios de fronteras y alejados de los centros neurálgicos de la monarquía no hubo actividad inquisitorial, en el caso de Chile se ha constatado que no solo se formaron las primeras comisarías en el siglo XVI, sino que además hubo una serie de motivos religiosos y políticos que justificaron su implementación.Palabras clave: Comisarios de la Inquisición, motivos fundacionales en Chile, prácticas procesales locales. | es-ES |
| dc.description | In 1570, the Holy Office of the Spanish Inquisition in the New World was organized, constituting only three districts. Among them: Lima, whose jurisdiction included the dioceses of Santiago and Concepción of Chile. In order to tightening controls over the population, it was ruled, from the beginning, that each head of the bishopric and sea port of the Lima district would have commissioners, true representatives of the inquisitors in spaces far from the court seat. Although it has been sustained by historiography that there was no inquisitorial activity in the frontiers and away from the hubs of the monarchy, in the case of Chile it has been confirmed that not only were formed the first commissionership in the 16th century, but also, there were a series of religious and political reasons that justified its implementation.Keywords: Commissioners of the Inquisition, founding reasons in Chile, local procedural practices. | en-US |
