The article analyzes "Lorenzita" (1898) by Manuel Atanasio Fuentes, a text that can be considered as the first literary manifestation that addresses the issue of sexual dissidence in Peru. An attempt is made to show that this text shows the rejection of the leadership elites regarding the body of the homosexual, which is considered a sick and abject body. This position is related to the disciplining and sanitation practices that this elite develops against the identities that it is thought should not be included in the modernization projects of the Peruvian nation at the end of the 19th century. El artí­culo analiza "Lorenzita" (1898) de Manuel Atanasio Fuentes, texto que puede ser considerado como la primera manifestación literaria que aborda el tema de la disidencia sexual en el Perú. Se intenta demostrar que en dicho texto se evidencia el rechazo de las élites dirigenciales respecto al cuerpo del homosexual, el cual es considerado como un cuerpo enfermo y abyecto. Esta postura está relacionada con las prácticas de disciplinamiento e higienización que esta elite desarrolla en contra de las identidades que se piensa no deben ser incluidas en los proyectos de modernización de la nación peruana a fines del siglo XIX.
