dc.descriptionPeople from low socioeconomic strata, indigenous people and migrants have experienced exclusion in neoliberal Chile between centuries ago and today. The Haitian community has suffered discrimination because of its skin color, as well as its nationality and poverty, tending to be segregated, residential and occupationally. It is rather a hetero-segregation, from the Chilean neorracism with the Afro-descendant population, generating a partial Haitian immobility in Santiago that has caused thinking and imagining the return as an alternative to the lack of recognition. However, the biographical spaces of Haitian migrants seek the achievement of a good life also through establishing themselves in Chile, socially organizing and improving their educational levels and working conditions. In these pages we wanted to cross the biographies (as an anthropological tool and lens) with the concrete trajectories of Haitian people living today in the plural, unequal and segregated Santiago, based on a qualitative/ethnographic study.en-US
dc.descriptionPersonas de estratos socioeconómicos bajos, indígenas y migrantes han vivido la exclusión en el Chile neoliberal de entre-siglos y en la actualidad. La comunidad haitiana ha sufrido discriminaciones tanto por su color de piel, como por su nacionalidad y situación de pobreza, tendiendo a estar segregados, residencial y laboralmente. Se trata más bien de una hetero-segregación, a partir del neorracismo chileno con la población afro-descendiente, generando una parcial inmovilidad haitiana en Santiago que ha provocado pensar e imaginar el retorno como una alternativa ante la falta de reconocimiento. Sin embargo, los espacios biográficos de migrantes haitianos buscan el logro de una buena vida también a través de establecerse en Chile, organizándose socialmente y mejorando sus niveles educacionales y condiciones laborales. En estas páginas hemos querido cruzar las biografías (como herramienta y lente antropológico) con las trayectorias concretas de personas haitianas habitando hoy en el Santiago plural, desigual y segregado, a partir de un estudio cualitativo/etnográfico.es-ES
