| dc.description | Roberto Martínez Kraushaar was born in Osorno, Chile. He graduated from the German Institute of Osorno and later obtained his degree in architecture from Universidad Católica de Valparaíso. In 1986, he moved to Düsseldorf, Germany, where he takes postgraduate studies in Advanced Architectural Design at Düsseldorf Arts Academy, with professors Ernst Kasper, Laurids Ortner, James Stirling, Oswald M. Ungers, and Elia Zenghelis. During his stay in Germany, he worked for the project division of architecture firms Schiel & Possekel, Overdiek Petzinka & Partner, and Ortner & Ortner – Baukunst, and was the director of the projects and contest division of architecture firm Giese & Bohne Architekten. With his team, in 1991 he was awarded at the EUROPAN II European Contest (Living in the City). In 1994, he founded the Architecture School at Universidad de Los Lagos together with architect Eduardo Vargas Herrera, of which he is the director until 2000. In 1996, he established the architecture office Biskupovic y Martínez Arquitectos Ltda. and in 2005, the architecture office “ARKSUR”. In 2000, he founded the School of Architecture and the Institute of Architecture and Urban Development at Universidad Austral de Chile, where he was the director of both the school and the institute. In 2014, he founded the School of Architecture and Arts at Universidad Austral de Chile, of which he was dean until August 2020. | en-US |
| dc.description | Roberto Martínez Kraushaar nace en Osorno, Chile. Egresa del Instituto Alemán de Osorno y más tarde se titula de arquitecto en la Universidad Católica de Valparaíso. En 1986 se muda a Düsseldorf, Alemania, donde realiza un postgrado en Diseño Arquitectónico Avanzado en la Academia de Artes de Düsseldorf, Alemania, con los profesores Ernst Kasper, Laurids Ortner, James Stirling, Oswald M. Ungers y Elia Zenghelis. Durante su estadía en ese país, trabaja en la sección de proyectos de las oficinas de arquitectura Schiel & Possekel, Overdiek Petzinka & Partner, Ortner & Ortner - Baukunst y por último, como director de la sección de proyectos y concursos de la oficina de arquitectura Giese & Bohne Architekten. En 1991 recibe, junto a un equipo, un premio en el Concurso Europeo EUROPAN II (Living in the City). En 1994, funda la Escuela de Arquitectura de la Universidad de Los Lagos junto al arquitecto Eduardo Vargas Herrera, donde ejerce el cargo de director hasta el año 2000. En 1996, crea la oficina de arquitectura Biskupovic y Martínez Arquitectos Ltda y en 2005, la oficina de Arquitectura, “ARKSUR”. El año 2000, funda la Escuela de Arquitectura y el Instituto de Arquitectura y Urbanismo de la Universidad Austral de Chile, dondez ejerce los cargos de director de escuela y director de instituto. En 2014 funda la Facultad de Arquitectura y Artes de la Universidad Austral de Chile, donde ejerce como decano hasta agosto de 2020. | es-ES |
