| dc.description | Tijuana's benchmark is to be a city of migrants, who arrived looking for better living conditions, and that the constant arrival of outsiders has made it a disorganized city in terms of its urban growth. The interest of this text is to address how the growth of the city has been and how it has been organized through different actors, individuals, groups and institutions, for which I am located in the eastern area, a space that concentrates the largest number of inhabitants in Tijuana, and it is also the point where its growth has been directed since 1980. To articulate the axes of the text, the case of the ethnic-migrant population is presented, due to the fact that they have intervened in the expansion towards the east, and of the In the same way, they form a group that participates in the organizational mechanisms (of the government and political leaders) to occupy land, and they are also subject to exclusion both due to their origin and the place where they live. The methodology used is qualitative, and documentary to a lesser extent. The results of this research suggest that Tijuana has been permanently organized in terms of urban growth, by different participations and that the State has delegated responsibilities to its inhabitants, exalting their organizational capacity. In the case of ethnic groups, prioritizing their community well-being, and their responses in precarious contexts (including those related to housing), has earned them a stigmatization in the city that combines racism and place of living. | en-US |
| dc.description | El referente de Tijuana es ser una ciudad de migrantes, llegados buscando mejores condiciones de vida, y que el arribo constante de personas ajenas, la ha vuelto una ciudad desorganizada en cuanto a su crecimiento urbano. El interés de este texto es abordar cómo ha sido el crecimiento de la ciudad y cómo este se ha organizado mediante distintos actores, particulares, grupales e institucionales, para lo cual me ubico en la zona este, espacio que concentra el mayor número de habitantes en Tijuana, y también es el punto hacia donde se ha encaminado su crecimiento desde 1980. Para articular los ejes del texto, se presenta el caso de la población étnica-migrante, debido a que han intervenido en la expansión hacia el este, y de la misma manera, forman un grupo participe de los mecanismos de organización (del gobierno y líderes políticos) para ocupar terrenos, y también son objeto de la exclusión tanto por su origen, como por el lugar en donde viven. La metodología utilizada es cualitativa, y documental en menor medida. Los resultados de esta investigación plantean que, Tijuana ha sido permanentemente organizada en cuanto al crecimiento urbano, por distintas participaciones y que el Estado ha delegado responsabilidades a sus habitantes exaltando su capacidad organizativa. En el caso de los grupos étnicos, el priorizar su bienestar comunitario, y sus respuestas en los contextos precarios (entre ellos los referentes a vivienda), les ha valido una estigmatización y segregación en la ciudad que conjunta racismo y lugar de habitar. | es-ES |
