Nature is so closely linked to human beings that without her we could not survive. However, despite these close links, due to the way we have considered her (as anobject, natural resource, good to be appropriated and available), we are going through a sixth extinction caused by humans. Human rights have not been and cannot be a sufficient tool to confront such devastation that we, as specie, has caused. New paradigms, different ideas, and another Law are needed. In certain new institutions of Andean Neoconstitutionalism, in particular nature rights, there is a hope, if we take them seriously.La naturaleza está tan estrechamente vinculada al ser humano, que sin ella no podríamos sobrevivir. A pesar de esos estrechos vínculos, debido a la forma en que la hemos considerado (como propiedad, recurso natural, bien apropiable y disponible), estamos atravesando una sexta extinción causada por los humanos. Los derechos humanos no han sido ni pueden ser una herramienta suficiente para afrontar tamaña destrucción que la especie humana ha provocado. Hacen faltan nuevos paradigmas, diferentes ideas, otro derecho. En ciertas instituciones novedosas del neoconstitucionalismo andino, en particular los derechos de la naturaleza, hay una posibilidad de salida a la crisis ambiental y climática, si se lo toman en serio.
