| dc.description | Sixty years after the creation of the United Nations, power relations have radically changed. The rules and structures of the postwar world order are no longer in tune with the new reality of the 21st century. For this reason, in 2005 the UN began a profound reform process, encompassing the organization's work in its three main areas: development, security and human rights. For the first time in a long time, a window of opportunity has opened to reform the United Nations. Unlike past efforts within the Organization that failed to advance innovative proposals for change and were unable to overcome differences, Kofi Annan's ambitious proposal, based on a previous report by a panel of personalities, has been materializing, generating hopes of that, this time, the pending aggiornamento will be carried out. | en-US |
| dc.description | Sesenta años después de la creación de las Naciones Unidas, las correlaciones de poder han cambiado radicalmente. Las normas y estructuras del orden mundial de posguerra ya no están en sintonía con la nueva realidad del siglo XXI. Por ello, el año 2005 la organización inició un profundo proceso de reforma, abarcando el quehacer de la organismo en sus tres áreas principales: el desarrollo, la seguridad y los derechos humanos. Por primera vez en mucho tiempo se ha abierto una ventana de oportunidad para reformar las Naciones Unidas. A diferencia de esfuerzos pasados al interior de la Organización que no lograron avanzar propuestas innovadoras de cambio y no pudieron superar las diferencias, la ambiciosa propuesta de Kofi Annan, basada en un informe previo de un panel de personalidades se ha ido materializando, generando esperanzas de que, esta vez, se realizará el aggiornamento pendiente. | es-ES |
