This article pays attention to a period that has not been subject of research by most scholars: we refer the period before 1910 and the origin and development of Chinese emigration to Mexico, the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries and the rise of anti-Chinese movements before the Mexican Revolution. The emigration of Chinese to Mexico began with the trade of the «Manila galleon» between the Philippines and New Spain (Mexico) during the colonial period of Mexico, increased in great numbers in the late 19th century along with the rapid economic development of Mexico during the Porfirio Diaz regime, and led to the establishment of diplomatic relation between China and Mexico. However, at the end of Diaz period, the increasing economic strength of Chinese immigrants gave rise to the anti-Chinese movement.Este artículo presta atención a un período que no ha sido objeto de investigación por parte de la mayoría de los académicos: nos referimos al período anterior a 1910 y al origen y desarrollo de la emigración china a México, al establecimiento de relaciones diplomáticas entre los dos países y el surgimiento de los Movimientos anti-chinos previos a la Revolución Mexicana. La emigración china a México comenzó con el comercio del «galeón de Manila» entre Filipinas y Nueva España (México) durante el período colonial de México, aumentó en gran número a finales del siglo XIX junto con el rápido desarrollo económico de México durante el régimen de Porfirio Díaz, y condujo al establecimiento de relaciones diplomáticas entre China y México. Sin embargo, al final del período de Díaz, la creciente fuerza económica de los inmigrantes chinos dio lugar al movimiento anti-chino.
