dc.descriptionTen years after the signing of the North American Free Trade Agreement, it is appropriate to carry out an evaluation of its scope, particularly in light of the rapid evolution of the international economic panorama. Of course, while waiting for all the planned stages to be achieved, there is a need to update it by placing it on a competitive level with the other integration schemes and taking into account the geopolitical strategy in which it was conceived. Of special importance for an analysis is to consider its viability in a commercial environment in which the Asian component has entered strongly, leading to the question of whether is sufficient to promote the sustained development policies of the states in the agreement. For Mexico, this approach constitutes an opportunity to deepen its commercial integration by proposing new lines of complementation that allow the construction of a new North American commercial space.en-US
dc.descriptionTras diez años de la firma del Tratado de Libre Comercio de América del Norte, resulta oportuno realizar una evaluación de sus alcances, particularmente frente a la acelerada evolución del panorama económico internacional que ha tenido lugar. Desde luego, a la espera de que se cumplan todas las etapas previstas, surge la necesidad de actualizarlo situándolo en un plano de competitividad con los demás esquemas de integración y teniendo en cuenta la estrategia geopolítica en que fue concebido. De especial importancia para un análisis es considerar su viabilidad en un entorno comercial en que ha irrumpido con fuerza el componente asiático, que lleva a preguntarse si ya resulta insuficiente para promover las políticas de desarrollo sostenido de los Estados partes. Para México, este planteamiento constituye a la vez una oportunidad para profundizar su integración comercial proponiendo nuevas líneas de complementación que permitan construir un nuevo espacio comercial norteamericano.es-ES
