The new conditions that prevail in the Latin American and world economic panorama have fostered the development of a renewed integrationist spirit in the subcontinent, characterized by the opening of markets, the signing of multiple cooperation agreements and the convergence of the different schemes and models of integration. This work sheds light on the future economic outlook of the subcontinent, taking into account the integrationist ideal, prevailing since the beginning of the 19th century, and the identity of the countries of the region, based on the new globalizing dynamics that the union of Latin American countries requires, in order to present themselves to the world as a community of political, economic and cultural interests, which is necessary in the face of new challenges and opportunities.Las nuevas condiciones que prevalecen en el panorama económico latinoamericano y mundial, han propiciado el desarrollo de un renovado espíritu integracionista en el subcontinente, caracterizado por la apertura de mercados, la suscripción de múltiples acuerdos de cooperación y la convergencia de los diferentes esquemas y modelos de integración. Este trabajo arroja luces sobre el panorama económico futuro del subcontinente, tomando en cuenta el ideal integracionista, prevaleciente desde principios del siglo XIX y la identidad de los países de la región, con base en la nueva dinámica globalizadora que exige la unión de los países latinoamericanos, con el fin de presentarse ante el mundo como una comunidad de intereses políticos, económicos y culturales, lo cual es necesario frente a los nuevos retos y oportunidades.
