dc.descriptionSince the election of Ronald Reagan, ultra-conservative sectors have acquired great weight in the competition of power groups to obtain governmental decisions that characterize the United States. These sectors go much further; prohibit the politics of power giving it a tinge of hegemonic isolationism and to reach their goals they have undertaken a persistent and well-organized work of demolition of the United Nations system. Examples of this are the withdrawal of the Margaret Thatcher government from UNESCO and Reagan's intention to do the same with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO). In this paper, the reasons adduced by governments or their advisers in these two cases are analyzed.en-US
dc.descriptionDesde la elección de Ronald Reagan sectores ultra conservadores han adquirido gran peso en la competencia de grupos de poder para obtener decisiones gubernamentales que caracterizan a Estados Unidos. Esos sectores van mucho más allá; prohíjan las políticas de poder dándole un tinte de aislacionismo hegemónico y para llegar a sus metas han emprendido un persistente y bien organizado trabajo de demolición del sistema de Naciones Unidas. Ejemplo de esto son el retiro del gobierno de Margaret Thatcher de la UNESCO y la intención de Reagan de hacer lo mismo con la Organización de las Naciones Unidas para la Agricultura y la Alimentación (FAO). En este trabajo se analizan las razones aducidas por los gobiernos o sus consejeros en estos dos casos.es-ES
