| dc.description | Compared to the world depression of the 1930s, the current world crisis is much more complex and difficult to attack, as well as its impact on Latin America. Now, as then, the origin of the crisis is in the centers, mainly in the United States. In this paper we argue that for the first time in the historical development of capitalism, the periphery could play an increasingly dynamic role in the development of the centers. This dynamic role, however great its potential, will in turn depend on the dynamics of the centers. If a cooperation policy encourages the dynamic role of the periphery, it could fundamentally change this state of affairs. | en-US |
| dc.description | Comparada con la depresión mundial de los años treinta, la crisis mundial actual es mucho más compleja y difícil de atacar, así como grave es su incidencia sobre América Latina. Ahora, como entonces, el origen de la crisis está en los centros, principalmente en los Estados Unidos. En el presente trabajo sostenemos que por primera vez en el desenvolvimiento histórico del capitalismo, la periferia podría desempeñar un creciente papel dinámico en el desarrollo de los centros. Este papel dinámico, por grande que sea su potencialidad, dependerá a su vez de la dinámica de los centros. Si una política de cooperación alienta el papel dinámico de la periferia, esta podría cambiar fundamentalmente este estado de cosas. | es-ES |
