dc.descriptionThe purpose of this work is to locate the problem of the Falkland Islands in the general context of Argentine foreign policy in recent decades and, particularly, in the critical moment that the country is experiencing, considering the broader context of its repercussions on the international relations of Latin America. We maintain that Argentina must effectively incorporate the events of Malvinas into its reality. This reality is difficult to accept, since the national process linked to Malvinas (the political-military factors that lead to the decision to occupy the islands; the military strategy applied in the operations; the subsequent socio-political and economic effects), form part of a cycle of notorious involution of Argentina in recent years, about which there are resounding economic, social and political indicators.en-US
dc.descriptionEl propósito de este trabajo consiste en ubicar el problema de las islas Malvinas en el contexto general de la política exterior argentina de las últimas décadas y, particularmente, en el momento crítico que vive el país, considerando el contexto más amplio de sus repercusiones sobre las relaciones internacionales de América Latina. Sostenemos que Argentina debe efectivamente incorporar los sucesos de Malvinas a su realidad. Esta realidad es difícil de aceptar, ya que el proceso nacional vinculado con Malvinas (los factores político-militares que conducen a la decisión de ocupar las islas; la estrategia militar aplicada en las operaciones; los efectos socio-políticos y económicos posteriores), forman parte de un ciclo de notoria involución de Argentina en los últimos años, sobre el cual existen rotundos indicadores económicos, sociales y políticos.es-ES
