| dc.description | Education and culture are fundamental factors in the association between peoples. Each society makes an immense effort to define and refine their collective personality, trying to seek the greatest integration of what constitutes the national being. Those who achieve this definition and clearly connote their nationality with persevering effort, acquire a sure vocation of openness, comprehension and understanding. We maintain that in Chile this condition existed since the dawn of the Republic and defined an internationalist vocation, in force for most of its historical course. Its international insertion, in objective terms, has transcended the concrete data of its possibilities. It was this vocation of integration which allowed to define the national personality, stimulate its development and be present in the historical and social change of the continent. | en-US |
| dc.description | La educación y la cultura son factores fundamentales de la asociación entre los pueblos. Cada pueblo hace un esfuerzo ímprobo para definir y afinar su personalidad colectiva tratando de buscar la mayor integración de lo que constituye el ser nacional. Los que logran esa definición y connotan con esfuerzo perseverante claramente su nacionalidad, adquieren una segura vocación de apertura, comprensión y entendimiento. Sostenemos que en Chile esa condición se dio desde los albores de la República y definió una vocación internacionalista, vigente durante la mayor parte de su curso histórico. Su inserción internacional, en términos objetivos, ha trascendido los datos concretos de sus posibilidades. Sin embargo, fue su vocación de integración la que permitió definir la personalidad nacional, estimular su desarrollo y estar presente en el cambio histórico y social del continente. | es-ES |
