| dc.description | Between 1965 and 1975, numerous studies on the subject of regional integration circulated in Latin America. As early as 1975, the process was deemed to have been "saturated," and the initial euphoria was not followed by a progressive fading of unease, but by a kind of unintentional conspiracy of silence. However, the need for regional integration has new and valuable arguments. The readjustment of integration and cooperation instruments offers a vast possibility of research and studies. Within this order of ideas, the studies carried out by the Development Research Corporation on the subject of "Society, Politics and Integration in Latin America" are exceptional. Ya en 1975, se estimó que el proceso se había "saturado", y a la euforia inicial no siguió un progresivo desvanecimiento de la inquietud, sino una especie de conspiración no deliberada del silencio. Sin embargo, La necesidad de la integración regional tiene nuevos y valiosos argumentos. La readecuación de los instrumentos de integración y cooperación ofrece una vasta posibilidad de investigaciones y estudios. Dentro de ese orden de ideas, los estudios realizados por la Corporación de Investigaciones para el Desarrollo sobre el tema de la “Sociedad, Política e Integración en América Latina” son excepcionales. En el presente artículo se comentan algunas afirmaciones contenidas en ella, centrándonos exclusivamente en la variable "integración" expuesta por los autores. | es-ES |
