dc.descriptionThe analysis of international relations in Latin America has been marked by the use of structural approaches. It is not a question of denying its validity; however it can often cover up or simplify complex realities. When we focus on specific situations in the relations of the United States with Latin America, we perceive the importance of deepening the examination of its internal mechanisms. This deepening means identifying the political motivations that guide the daily politics of North American hegemony. To try to account for this analysis proposal, the object of this work is defined as the study of North American foreign policy for Latin America in the Carter government. An attempt is made to perceive the internal process of formation of these policies once we choose to examine the relations between the United States and Latin America from the angle of the center of power.en-US
dc.descriptionLos análisis de las relaciones internacionales de América Latina han estado marcados por la utilización de enfoques estructurales. No se trata de negar su validez, sin embargo muchas veces puede encubrir o simplificar realidades complejas. Cuando focalizamos situaciones concretas en las relaciones de los Estados Unidos con América Latina, percibimos la importancia de profundizar el examen de sus mecanismos internos. Esta profundización significa identificar las motivaciones políticas que orientan la política cotidiana de la hegemonía norteamericana. Para intentar dar cuenta de esta propuesta de análisis, se define como objeto de este trabajo el estudio de la política externa norteamericana para América Latina en el gobierno de Carter. Se intenta percibir el proceso interno de formación de estas políticas una vez que optamos por examinar las relaciones entre los Estados Unidos y América Latina desde el ángulo del centro de poder.es-ES
