| dc.description | There are various ways of thinking about the "new international economic order". However, this concept today means something much more political, specific and precise. Its roots lie in the fundamental aspiration of less developed nations that the political end of colonization be followed by economic and social emancipation. Officially, the idea can be said to have been born in May 1974 in the Sixth Extraordinary Period of Sessions of the United Nations General Assembly through a long resolution, approved by consensus, but its antecedents go back many years and some of the Consequences that emerge are very vivid. Sus raíces se hallan en la aspiración fundamental de las naciones menos desarrolladas de que el final político de la colonización fuera seguido de una emancipación económica y social. Oficialmente, la idea puede decirse que nació en mayo de 1974 en el Sexto Periodo Extraordinario de Sesiones de la Asamblea General de las Naciones Unidas a través de una larga resolución, aprobada por consenso, pero sus antecedentes se remontan a muchos años y algunas de las consecuencias que se desprenden son muy vívidas.
