The United States has voiced its opposition to the Brazilian nuclear plan. This would be based on the need to stop nuclear proliferation, preventing Brazil from being in a position to manufacture atomic bombs. In this paper, we argue that the Brazilian nuclear plan has nothing sinister, and on the contrary it responds to the strictest technical-economic rationality, and that the North American opposition is not due to the fear of proliferation but to causes of another nature, such as its interest in definitively establishing the nuclear cartel organized in the so-called London Club with the objective of exercising the most severe control over nuclear technology in the entire planet, regulating the production and trade of nuclear goods and services not only for hypothetical military purposes but primarily for commercial applications.Estados Unidos ha manifestado su oposición al plan nuclear brasileño. Este se fundamentaría en la necesidad de detener la proliferación nuclear, impidiendo que Brasil llegue a estar en condiciones de fabricar bombas atómicas. En este trabajo sostenemos que el plan nuclear brasileño nada tiene de siniestro, y por el contrario responde a la más estricta racionalidad técnico-económica, y que la oposición norteamericana no obedece al temor de la proliferación sino a causas de otra naturaleza, como su interés en establecer en forma definitiva el cartel nuclear organizado en el llamado Club de Londres con el objetivo de ejercer el más severo control sobre la tecnología nuclear en todo el planeta, regulando la producción y el comercio de bienes y servicios nucleares no solo para hipotéticos fines bélicos, sino fundamentalmente para aplicaciones comerciales.
