This document refers to the report of the International Commission on the Development of Education, formed by UNESCO. The report contains three main parts. The first is entitled "The Facts", where the problem is posed and makes an in-depth study of the current reality of education in the world. The second part, "The future", raises the question about the new responsibilities of education in the world. The third, "Towards an educational city" makes recommendations. This is the most pragmatic part, and it covers specific points, applicable on a national scale, and general recommendations for the international scenario.En este documento se hace referencia al informe de la Comisión Internacional para el Desarrollo de la Educación, formada por la UNESCO. El informe contiene tres partes fundamentales. La primera se titula “Los hechos”, donde se plantea se plantea el problema y se hace un estudio a fondo de la actual realidad de la educación en el mundo. La segunda parte, “El futuro”, plantea la interrogante sobre las nuevas responsabilidades de la educación en el mundo. La tercera, “Hacia una ciudad educativa” plantea recomendaciones; es esta la parte más pragmática, y que cubre puntos concretos, aplicables a escala nacional, y recomendaciones de carácter general para el escenario internacional.
