| dc.description | The first part of this paper reviews the changes or evolution of opinions held in Latin America and the United States regarding the reciprocal meaning of their economic ties, to contrast them in the second part with objective antecedents on those ties, taking as a starting point only the mutant, more or less official point of view of the United States. We maintain that there is a growing weakness and imbalance in their economic relations to the detriment of Latin America. The third part tries to analyze, against the background of the preceding sections, some main elements to evaluate the possibilities of conflict or détente in the relations of the two areas. | en-US |
| dc.description | En la primera parte de este trabajo se pasa revista a los cambios o evolución de las opiniones que se tienen en América Latina y en Estados Unidos respecto al significado recíproco de sus nexos económicos, para contrastarlos en la segunda parte con antecedentes objetivos sobre esos nexos, tomando como punto de partida únicamente el mutante punto de vista más o menos oficial de Estados Unidos. Lo cierto es que existe un creciente debilitamiento y desequilibrio en sus relaciones económicas en perjuicio de América Latina. En la tercera parte se trata de analizar, sobre el trasfondo de las secciones precedentes, algunos elementos principales para evaluar las posibilidades de conflicto o distensión en las relaciones de las dos áreas. | es-ES |
