Since the formation of the "Grand Coalition" government under Federal Chancellor Kiesinger and Foreign Minister Brandt in December 1966, there has been talk of a new era in German foreign policy. The main lines of the foreign policy of the government of the Great Coalition are contained in the official declaration that Chancellor Kiesinger made before the Bundestag on December 13, 1966. The foreign policy thus outline had to be carried out or at least started before the end of the legislative period in 1966. 18 months since then, it seems legitimate to undertake a critical examination aimed at comparing the practical results obtained so far with the program announced at the beginning of the government period.Desde la formación del gobierno de la "Gran Coalición" bajo el Canciller Federal Kiesinger y el Ministro de Relaciones Exteriores Brandt, en diciembre de 1966, se ha empezado a hablar de una nueva era en la política exterior alemana. Las grandes líneas de la política exterior del gobierno de la Gran Coalición, están contenidas en la declaración oficial que el Canciller Kiesinger hiciera ante el Bundestag el 13 de diciembre de 1966. La así esbozada política exterior –cuyos fines son la distensión y la europeización de la cuestión alemana–, debía ser realizada o al menos iniciada antes del fin del período legislativo del año 1966. Desde entonces han transcurrido 18 meses, de modo que parece lícito emprender un examen crítico destinado a comparar los resultados prácticos hasta ahora obtenidos con el programa anunciado a comienzos del periodo de gobierno.
