| dc.description | We know less about how China's foreign policy works than about almost any other aspect of its domestic politics. Nor are we better informed about the theoretical and analytical thinking on which its Foreign Policy is based. We believe that it is actually much more incipient and fragmentary than everyone might think and can be divided into three phases. The last one starts with the Great Leap Forward, and has been marked by China's relationship with the Third World, its support to revolutionary movements, its nuclear capacity, its attitude towards the United States, the UN, the problem of Taiwan, its dispute with the Soviet Union, its position on the Vietnam War, and the impact of the Cultural Revolution. | en-US |
| dc.description | Sabemos menos sobre el funcionamiento de la política exterior en China que sobre casi cualquier otro aspecto de su política interna. Tampoco estamos mejor informados respecto a1 pensamiento teórico y analítico en que se basa su política exterior. Creemos que es en realidad muchísimo más incipiente y fragmentaria de lo que se podría pensar y se puede dividir en tres fases. La última se inicia con el Gran Salto Adelante, y ha estado marcada por su relación de China con el Tercer Mundo, su apoyo a movimientos revolucionarios, su potencial capacidad nuclear, su actitud hacia los Estados Unidos, la ONU, el problema de Taiwán, su disputa con la Unión Soviética, su posición respecto a la guerra de Vietnam y el impacto de la Revolución Cultural.
