The article introduces to the International Protection System of Climate Change in a panoramic mode, from its formation to the recent climate negotiations that resulted from the Paris Agreement. It then deals with the Agreement and revises the three pillars to confront the phenomenon indicated by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) in its latest report by the end of 2014, in order to know how if it is covered by the Agreement: Greenhouse Gas Emissions (GHG), the socioeconomic development and climate policies. It concludes by indicating the challenges and opportunities for the system.El artículo introduce al Sistema de Protección Internacional de Cambio Climático de un modo panorámico, desde su conformación hasta las negociaciones climáticas recientes que dieron lugar al Acuerdo de París. Luego se ocupa del Acuerdo y revisa cómo los tres pilares para afrontar el fenómeno —indicados por el Grupo Intergubernamental de Expertos sobre el Cambio Climático (IPCC) en su último informe de finales de 2014— son abordados por este: las emisiones de gases de efecto invernadero (GEI), el desarrollo socioeconómico y las políticas climáticas. Se concluye indicando los desafíos y oportunidades para el sistema.
