This paper studies the history of the power that article 74, currently 77, of the Political Constitution of the Republic, grants to the Supreme Court to rule on bills that contain provisions on the organization and powers of the courts of law. justice and, on the other hand, it analyzes the meaning and scope that the Constitutional Court has given through its jurisprudence to the concept of constitutional organic law relative to the organization and attributions. Finally, he reflects on the possibility of granting legal initiative to the Supreme Court in matters of its competence.En este trabajo se estudia la historia de la facultad que el artículo 74, actual 77, de la Constitución Política de la República, otorga a la Corte Suprema para pronunciarse respecto de los proyectos de ley que contengan disposiciones sobre organización y atribuciones de los tribunales de justicia y , por otra parte, se analiza el sentido y alcance que el Tribunal Constitucional ha dado a través de su jurisprudencia al concepto de ley orgánica constitucional relativa a la organización y atribuciones. Finalmente, se reflexiona respecto de la posibilidad de otorgar iniciativa legal al máximo Tribunal en materias de su competencia.
