For several decades, the institution of the Ombudsman or, using the most widely used denomination in the Spanish-speaking world, the "Ombudsman" has been studied to "implant" in Chile, an expression that apparently expresses a broader idea than that of the parliamentary oversight distinguishing the Scandinavian original.Desde hace varias décadas se estudia “implantar” en Chile la institución del Ombudsman o, empleando la denominación más empleada en el mundo de habla castellana, del “Defensor del Pueblo”, expresión ésta que enuncia, aparentemente, una idea más amplia que la del fiscalizador parlamentario que distingue al original escandinavo.
