Este estudio se centra en la imagen que la otrora candidata Michelle Bachelet exhibió efectivamente en su campaña política televisiva, realizándose un estudio de corte cuantitativo que permite comparar la proyección que la única mujer en competencia proyectó frente a sus tres contrapartes masculinas. Tras una revisión bibliográfica, se construyó un “estereotipo académico” determinando las competencias temáticas, las actitudes y los roles que una mujer suele proyectar a la hora de exhibirse en los medios. Éste se aplicó a las más de 11 horas de campaña electoral televisiva emitidas en Chile entre noviembre de 2005 y enero de 2006 , empleando para dicha exploración una particular e inédita unidad de registro.Palabras clave: Estereotipo; género; rasgos personales; competencia temática; roles; Chile; análisis cuantitativo; comunicación políticaThis research focuses on the effective image Michelle Bachelet portrayed during her televised presidential campaign and provides a quantitative study that reveals how the only female candidate was projected in competition with her three male opponents. An extensive literature review aided in determining the thematic competence, attitudes, and roles that women politicians usually project on the media.
