dc.descriptionBased on a series of autobiographical texts by Rubén Darío, this essay aims at reflecting on the notion of archive as it intersects with the problems inherent to the “writings of the self.” My analysis focuses on the autobiographical impulse of the late Darío, who, faced with the first global crisis of the twentieth century –that is, the first Great War–, revisits his writings in the chronicles known as Historia de mis libros (1913). These texts can be read as an archive, that is, as the product of cataloguing his own works according to multiple criteria, which are not necessarily harmonious. The position from which this archive is constituted is that of an authorial subject who declares to have a panoramic view of his work and who can, therefore, control it. However, the cracks in the cohesion of this archive run through the texts and emerged for decades in critical approaches. In this context, I seek to reposition Darío’s autobiographies as an avant-garde narrative that can be foreseen in the aesthetic and political project of Los Raros (1896-1905), a demystification of the great cultural monuments of the 19th century.en-US
dc.descriptionA partir de una serie de textos autobiográficos de Rubén Darío, esta aproximación pretende reflexionar sobre la noción de archivo en su cruce con los problemas propios de las “escrituras del yo”. El análisis se centra en la pulsión autobiográfica del Darío tardío, que ante la inminencia de la primera crisis global del siglo XX (primera Gran Guerra) revisa su trayecto de escritura en las crónicas conocidas como Historia de mis libros (1913). Estos textos admiten una lectura como conato de archivo, es decir, como el producto de una catalogación de las propias obras de acuerdo a criterios múltiples, no siempre armónicos. La posición desde la que se constituye este archivo es la de un sujeto autor que declara tener una mirada panorámica de su obra y que puede, entonces, controlarla. Sin embargo, las fisuras en la cohesión de este archivo –motivadas por un tiempo que se percibe como crisis global– recorren los textos y se imponen desde hace décadas en los abordajes de la crítica. Esta intervención busca reposicionar las autobiografías darianas en el terreno de una vanguardia narrativa que tiene como antecedente el proyecto estético y político de Los Raros (1896-1905), un trabajo de desmontaje y desmitificación de los grandes monumentos culturales del siglo XIX.es-ES
