The school faced major problems at the time of return to classes: the lag in learning with students below the minimum level of the course they attend. The establishments had begun the leveling and recovery of learning when the difficulties of coexistence exploded and there was a shift from the pedagogical to the socio-emotional, the central focus of schools that serve students who did not have, for two years, socialization processes. Finally, teachers who were with virtual work, and who expected to meet the same students who stopped seeing in March 2020 and who think they do not have the necessary skills for it. The school will surely overcome this difficult situation, but it changed and will never be the same again. You have to think and write about the school that is coming. It cannot happen that, as happened with the face-to-face return, reality passes us by, while we watch impassively.La escuela enfrentó grandes problemas al momento del retorno presencial a clases: el rezago en aprendizajes con alumnos bajo el nivel mínimo del curso al que asisten. Los establecimientos habían comenzado la nivelación y recuperación de aprendizajes, cuando explotaron las dificultades de convivencia y hubo un giro desde lo pedagógico a lo socioemocional, foco central de colegios que atienden alumnos que no tuvieron, durante dos años, procesos de socialización. Por último, docentes que estuvieron con trabajo virtual, y que esperaban encontrarse con los mismos alumnos que dejaron de ver en marzo de 2020 y que sienten no poseer habilidades necesarias para ello. La escuela, seguramente, superará esta difícil situación, pero mutó y nunca más volverá a ser la misma. Hay que ir pensando y escribiendo sobre la escuela que se viene. No puede ocurrir que, como pasó con el retorno presencial, la realidad nos pase por al lado, mientras miramos impávidos.
