dc.description	Truth and justice in the field of human rights constituted one of the greatest challenges in the transition to democracy. In this article the hypothesis is that in Chile, the first governments of the transition divided both tasks, prioritizing the truth and proposing 'justice to the extent possible', a situation that generated conflicts and distance with associations of victims of the repression and more broadly with the human rights movement. These distances, however, it is hypothesized, favored a persistent and radical option for historical memory on the part of the human rights movement.	en-US
dc.description	La verdad y la justicia en el campo de los derechos humanos constituía uno de los mayores desafíos de la transición a la democracia. En este artículo se sostiene como hipótesis que, en Chile, los primeros gobiernos de la transición escindieron ambas tareas priorizando en la verdad y proponiendo ‘justicia en la medida de lo posible’, situación que generó conflictos y distancia con las agrupaciones de víctimas de la represión y más ampliamente con el movimiento de derechos humanos. Estas distancias, sin embargo, favorecieron una persistente y radical opción por la memoria histórica por parte del movimiento de derechos humanos.	es-ES
