In this work the social intuitionism defended by Jonathan Haidt is explored and compared with the dual reasoning theory (TDR), this theory belongs to a family of proposals that maintain that there is a duality in the field of the mental. On the one hand, social intuitionism has argued that it receives support from TDR, on the other hand, TDR has pointed out similarities with social intuitionism; despite the mutual references mentioned, an analysis of what the precise relationship between these projects could be has not been carried out. This work is an attempt to carry out such analysis, in which it is argued that a) it is not clear that the division of social intuitionism between reasoning, intuition, and emotion is equivalent to that of the defenders of TDR; b) social intuitionism has certain differences both with the default-interventionist version and with the parallel version of the TDR; and, finally, c) it is not evident that social intuitionism is an extension of a TDR to the field of moral judgment. It is necessary to carry out more studies that delve into the different elements of social intuitionism and TDR, in order to understand how human beings make judgments and decisions, either within the scope of morality or outside it.En este trabajo se explora el intuicionismo social defendido por Jonathan Haidt y se compara con la teoría dual de razonamiento (TDR), dicha teoría pertenece a una familia de propuestas que sostienen que existe una dualidad en el ámbito de lo mental. Por un lado, el intuicionismo social ha sostenido que recibe apoyo de la TDR, por otro lado, la TDR ha apuntado semejanzas con el intuicionismo social; no obstante las referencias mutuas mencionadas, no se ha realizado un análisis de cuál podría ser la relación precisa entre dichos proyectos. Este trabajo es un intento de llevar a cabo dicho análisis, en éste se defiende que a) no queda claro que la división del intuicionismo social entre razonamiento, intuición y emoción, sea equivalente a la de los defensores de la TDR; b) el intuicionismo social guarda ciertas diferencias tanto con la versión default-intervencionista como con la versión paralela de la TDR; y, por último, c) no es evidente que el intuicionismo social sea una extensión de una TDR al campo del juicio moral. Es necesario llevar a cabo más estudios que profundicen en los diferentes elementos del intuicionismo social y la TDR, para con ello entender cómo es que los seres humanos emiten juicios y toman decisiones, ya sea dentro del ámbito de la moral o fuera de ella.
