| dc.description | In Rome, the family was, as in times of Bartolo, a unit of assets. This does not exclude, but rather, that it was a spiritual unity and a political actor, among other things. The author addresses this fundamental issue and its subsequent evolution to the dawn of the Middle Ages, a process in which the Roman family will be an extended family to become a nuclear one.
