| dc.description | La continuidad de intercambios entre las ciudades de Arica y Tacna se evidencia en la evolución de cruces registrados por el control de la frontera chileno-peruana. El reconocimiento de una espacialidad transfronteriza configurada en torno a estas prácticas fue una premisa para este estudio. Como principal base teórica, se adoptó la tríada de la producción del espacio de Lefebvre y su distinción entre dominio y apropiación para comprender el caso de estudio a través de una aproximación cualitativa y de análisis de contenido. El artículo expone parte de estos resultados enfocados en la dimensión material (percibido) y las concepciones dominantes (concebido) con respecto a la condición fronteriza de estas ciudades. Los resultados evidenciaron que los habitantes reconocieron la articulación entre Arica y Tacna por formar parte de su cotidiano, siendo cruzadores o no. En cambio, estas prácticas fueron débilmente registradas desde los instrumentos de planificación. Respecto a las concepciones dominantes sobre la condición fronteriza, se reveló que prevalece la escala nacional y, sumado a limitadas competencias para niveles subnacionales, tiende a dificultarse un mayor reconocimiento e incorporación de la proximidad como aspecto potencial. | es-ES |
| dc.description | The continuity of exchanges between the cities of Arica and Tacna can be witnessed in the progression of border crossings recorded by the Chilean-Peruvian border control authorities. The recognition of a cross-border spatiality constructed around these practices was a premise for this study. As the main theoretical basis, the trio of the production of the Lefebvre space and its distinction between domain and appropriation to understand the case study was adopted, using a qualitative approach and content analysis. The article presents part of these results focused on the material dimension (perceived) and the dominant conceptions (conceived) with respect to the border condition of the aforementioned cities. The results showed that the inhabitants recognised the linkage between Arica and Tacna as being part of their daily lives, whether they were border crossers or not. Nevertheless, these practices were not extensively registered in terms of planning instruments. Regarding the dominant conceptions of the conditions prevalent in the border zone, it was revealed that the national scale prevails and, added to the limited competence at the sub-national level, tends to hinder greater recognition and incorporation of proximity as a potential aspect. | en-US |
