The objective of these paper is the analysis of the migration in Chile from a territorial perspective to identify the main challenges of migration policy, having as its central axis the role of local governments in facilitating access to the rights of immigrants inside their territories in the context of the crisis generated by the Covid-19 pandemic. Migration in Chile is contextualized, analyzing the data by regions and communes. Information is presented on social demand and municipal migratory supply at the local level. The research is mixed, combining the techniques of documentary review and survey. For the first case, 100% of the official websites of the municipalities were consulted and 73% of the Communal Development Plans of the municipalities were reviewed. In the second case, officials who work directly with the foreign population in 87 Chilean municipalities were surveyed.El objetivo del artículo es analizar la migración en Chile, desde una perspectiva territorial, para la identificación de los principales desafíos de la política migratoria, teniendo como eje central el rol de los gobiernos locales en la facilitación del acceso a los derechos de las personas inmigradas en sus territorios y el contexto de la crisis generada por la pandemia del Covid-19. Se contextualiza la migración en Chile analizando los datos por regiones y comunas. Se presenta información sobre la demanda social y la oferta municipal migratoria a nivel local. La investigación es mixta, combinando técnicas de revisión documental y encuestas. Para el primer caso, se consultó el 100 % de los sitios webs oficiales de las municipalidades y se revisó el 73 % de los Planes de Desarrollo Comunal de los municipios. En el segundo caso, se encuestó a funcionarios que trabajan directamente con población extranjera en 87 municipalidades chilenas.
