dc.descriptionThis article discusses the conceptual and institutional conditions surrounding the emergence of the research on the arts as a practice in the context of the university, particularly in the field of music. It considers the incorporation of the arts into the university as an unfinished process, that requires the clarifying of the fundamental difference between creation as an academic research method and creation within the framework of the cultural and creative industries as a practice outside the university. As a proposal it presents a reflection on the state of the artist-professor within the university. Besides, the intellectual production of musicians working as professors in five universities in Bogotá is analyzed as the empirical basis of the study, taking Henk Bordorff’s three perspectives on the arts research (2007) as the frame of reference. This scholar suggests that the reflection while practicing art amounts to a research method by itself, which differs from the research about or for the art. Likewise the evaluation criteria for research based on practice devised by Biggs and Bruchler (2008) are presented, in order to establish a concept of research-creation. This concept could serve as the basis of the interaction of the arts with other academic disciplines without having to give up their own inner dynamics.en-US
dc.descriptionEste artículo pretende avanzar en la discusión respecto de las condiciones conceptuales e institucionales en que aparece la investigación en artes en el ámbito universitario, específicamente en el campo de la música. Examina la incursión de las artes en la universidad como un proceso inacabado que requiere el esclarecimiento de la diferencia fundamental entre crear como método académico de investigación, y crear fuera de la universidad en el marco de las industrias culturales y creativas. Por tanto, propone una reflexión concerniente al lugar del docente-artista en la universidad. La base empírica de la reflexión es un análisis de la producción intelectual de los músicos en cinco universidades bogotanas. Se toma como marco de referencia las tres perspectivas acerca de la investigación en artes de Henk Borgdorff (2007), quien sugiere que la reflexión desde la práctica del arte puede ser una metodología de investigación diferenciada de la investigación sobre y para el arte. Asimismo, se exponen los criterios para la evaluación de investigaciones basadas en la práctica de Biggs y Bruchler (2008), con el fin de consolidar una noción de investigación-creación a partir de la que las artes puedan dialogar con otras disciplinas sin alejarse de sus propias dinámicas.es-ES
