Departing from Rhigas‘s conception of the world and the Greek insular imagery within the political, historical and geographic design included in his Hellenic Republic, the author analyzes the insular references in his work. Special emphasis is placed on his depiction and commentary on the -Greek‖ insular space as represented in his cartographic and iconographic work, a crossroads and reflection of the internal and external cultural currents of his time as focused on the incipient programmatic definition of the Hellenic territory.La autora analiza las referencias insulares en la obra de Rigas a partir de la concepción del mundo y del imaginario insular griego conforme al programa político, histórico y geográfico de la República Helénica por él diseñada. Se hace hincapié en la representación y comentario del espacio insular -griego‖ en su obra cartográfica e iconográfica, encrucijada y reflejo de las corrientes de pensamiento de la época, externas e internas, en la incipiente definición programática del territorio helénico.
