dc.descriptionThe author studies in detail the transplantation to the region of San Luis (Renca) of a devotion to Jesus Christ originated in Chile (Renca), which is reported by Alonso de Ovalle in his Histórica relación del Reino de Chile published in Rome in 1646. The chapel that was built in the vicinity of San Luis became a parish and gave rise to a population that, after growing, ended up stagnating and even declining. However, the devotion continues to attract worshipers even today. He attributes the export of that devotion to the action of the Jesuits.en-US
dc.descriptionEl autor estudia detalladamente el trasplante a la región de San Luis (Renca) de una devoción a Jesucristo originada en Chile (Renca), de la que da cuenta Alonso de Ovalle en su Histórica relación del Reino de Chile publicada en Roma en 1646. La capilla que se levantó en las cercanías de San Luis llegó a ser parroquia y dio origen a una población que, tras crecer, terminó estancándose y aun disminuyendo. Sin embargo, la devoción continúa atrayendo fieles aún hoy día. Atribuye la exportación de esa devoción a la acción de los jesuitas.es-ES
