| dc.description | The article reflects on the presuppositions and consequences of the concept of performativity (understood as the involvement of the observer in the objects and projects he/she describes). The paper proposes a wider notion of performativity concerning not only theory but also extended to the entire economy, which observes itself in all its operations. This conception has the advantage of being connected with critical approaches inside economics, which highlight the central role of uncertainty and surprise. It can explain how and why performativity turns into counter-performativity and how financial operators exploit uncertainty when orienting their behavior, expecting, and using the unpredictability of the future. | en-US |
| dc.description | El presente artículo reflexiona sobre los presupuestos y consecuencias del concepto de performatividad (entendido como la implicación del observador en los objetos y proyectos que describe). El artículo propone una noción más amplia de performatividad que incluye no solo a la teoría, sino que se extiende también a toda la economía, la que se observa a sí misma en todas sus operaciones. Esta concepción tiene la ventaja de estar conectada con enfoques críticos dentro de la economía que destacan el papel central de la incertidumbre y la sorpresa. Se puede explicar así, cómo y por qué la performatividad se convierte en contraperformatividad y cómo los operadores financieros aprovechan la incertidumbre al orientar su comportamiento, al esperar y utilizar la imprevisibilidad del futuro. | es-ES |
