Social work is assumed as transdisciplinary and because of that the aim of this paper is to reflect about the complex foundations of intervention theory, constructed from an organic and consistent profession. The idea is to contribute to the creation of a corpus that overcomes the technological tradition responding to three challenges: the creation of inclusive and collaborative processes with subjects, the transformation of diagnosis and intervention techniques in research resources, and the inclusion of symbols as an inseparable dimension from everyday practices and social structures of the subjects of study and intervention.Desde el trabajo social asumido como transdisciplina se pretende reflexionar sobre las bases complejas necesarias para abrir caminos hacia una teoría de la intervención, construida desde una investigación coherente y orgánica a la profesión. La idea es aportar a la conformación de un corpus que supere y asuma la tradición tecnológica dando respuesta a tres desafíos: la conformación de procesos investigativos inclusivos y colaborativos con los sujetos, la reversibilidad de técnicas de diagnóstico e intervención en recursos de investigación, e incluir lo simbólico como dimensión fundamental e inseparable de las prácticas cotidianas y las estructuras sociales de los sujetos de estudio e intervención del trabajo social.
